Through its Adult Development program, Independent Living, Inc. helps individuals with disabilities find meaningful ways to spend their time and enjoy their lives to the fullest. A sample of the topics that may be covered in the Adult Day Services program include: language development, reading, budgeting, computer literacy, emergency response procedures, first aid, community awareness, establishing and maintaining relationships with peers, nutrition, fitness and personal hygiene.

Established in June 2010, clients are offered the opportunity to join a civic group—The Aktion Club, which is sponsored by the Harrison Kiwanis. The Aktion Club is the only service club for adults with developmental disabilities, with more than 11,000 members worldwide.
